Home is Where the Heart Is

Clients often ask for suggestions on the location of the session. My response is always the same, “Pick a place that means something to you.” This family picked their front porch. They brought all their babies home through these front doors. Dumped a lot of boots off on the porch. Spent rainy summer evenings eating ice cream on it. When we scheduled the session they had zero plans of making memories at a new address, so it wasn’t a one last memory session, a few short months later the session photos came to mean so much more. It was a location that meant something, and it would be the last time their Christmas tree and Christmas memories would be at this address. Never think your home is enough for your next session. It is likely the place that means the most to your family. The place of many first and lasts. A place that means the most, after all, Home is where the heart is.
